Overview

Long, long ago, the gods built the Great Wall. Though they've forgotten its form, they know it was their skilled hands that bestowed life upon themselves and their brethren, carving clear and concise instructions into the heart of its enduring mechanism. For a thousand generations after, it existed solely to fulfill this mandate. After countless ages, when even the Great Wall had been forgotten by mankind, it awoke from slumber at the call of a group of orphans. Yes, they were truly noisy. It opened its bewildered eyes and surveyed these humans curiously, straining to understand its circumstances. Among them, an orphan who could read recited an inscription etched somewhere: "He has departed, but the threat remains. We must find a way to confront it... It will be our shield, protecting our lands... An unparalleled miracle." These words stirred its memories. Its eyes lit up, literally, as if awakened by the text itself. Then, rising from beneath the earth with a groan, it nearly toppled the child perched on its shoulders. The mandate, its eternal mission, drove it forward. It scanned its surroundings and immediately locked onto its objective: scattered bricks. Stepping forward with unwavering determination, it drew glances of astonishment from all present as it lifted massive blocks one by one. Was it preparing to attack? The orphans' hearts pounded in fear. Yet, the colossal mechanism swiftly stacked the bricks neatly, forming a wall that repaired itself almost instantly. Its remaining energy dissipated completely. It felt immensely satisfied and at peace, its eyes (and the large lamp atop its head) flickering with contentment before succumbing to another slumber. In its daze, it heard applause, cheers, and gasps from the orphans who had witnessed this spectacle: "So this is how the Great Wall was built!" How many years passed? It didn't know or care. Time, even the longest stretches, were but a single, blissful slumber to it. Only the command etched into its core by the gods continued to operate silently. When its eyes next flickered open, they were drawn to a young, mixed-race demon seed. One day, this individual had tinkered with tools and activated the mechanism, prolonging his awakening. Curiosity piqued, it surveyed its surroundings: the corner tower kitchen of the Great Wall. This seemingly immobile behemoth was now used as furniture, stacked against the wall with a spacious tableboard atop. The mixed-race demon seed bustled about the room, occasionally resting a frying pan on his head, polishing his ancestral hunting rifle, or attempting to teach foreigners from distant lands the local dialect near the Great Wall. Lately, he had been spending more time tinkering with tools. It seemed he was trying to figure out how to activate himself. "Hmm... Should I tell him the right answer?" the young man pondered. The mechanism's lamp flickered, as if its eyes had rolled, but it remained resolute and took no action. Suddenly, the entire room began to shake. War drums and whistles blared outside. Had the Great Wall been attacked again? The young man seized a long spear from a corner and peered out. This violent tremor... did it mean an enemy sought to destroy the Great Wall? Was this finally the threat they had waited for, the enemy they had anticipated? The mixed-race demon seed sprinted out, his hunting rifle slung over his shoulder, unaware that the mechanism he tried to activate was subject to a powerful will, a stern command, driving it and keeping it in motion. It slowly rose to its feet, steady and resolute. The creator's voice guided its actions, for it was the reason for its existence, the purpose of its operation. "Repair." That voice, that command, echoed through time, etched forever into its core, resonating loudly: "Repair."

The Shield Mountain is inherently clunky when holding a shield, making it difficult to maintain a steady defensive position. As a result, it usually can't consistently perform its team-initiating role. At these times, it requires sufficient tanky (meaty) equipment to ensure the Shield Mountain has enough maneuverability before raising its shield to initiate team fights.
